Pimo- physically in mentally out (physically you're going to the meetings but mentally you don't believe any of it).
Pomo- physically out mentally out (you've left).
ok i'm ready for the transition.
i am not writing anything to anyone or writing some dumb letter.
the calls and visits trying to get me to come back will soon follow, the family guilt trips will intensify, loss of friends- really more like cult member associates, how the hell am i supposed to do this?

I had planned on fading but couldn't be bothered with the harassment so I disassociated.
I still got harassed a lot between the day I handed my letter to the elders and when it was announced from the platform nearly 2 weeks later.
I've been free for almost a year now and I'm loving my freedom and my life, I have lots of new friends and my children are happy and looking forward to Christmas!
There's no easy way to leave so you have to do what works best for you. I hope it goes well!
the wife got back from the convention, and mentioned one point from the co talk.. he gave the statistic that on average, there are about 780 people baptized every day in the world!
everyone was amazed.. i broke it to her that there used to be a lot more.
i recall giving a talk and at that time there were around 1200/day.
Wish we could get some inside information on the true current statistics

Most of those baptised at the assemblies/conventions in the last 10 years I was in were teenagers. It was rare to see someone above 25 being baptised.
I was baptised at 23 and out of 21 of us baptised there was only 1 person older than me and the rest were years younger including a 10yr old. I wonder if that 10yr old who will now be 22/23 Is still in or if they woke up and are now living their life.
the september broadcast opens up with a story of 80 yr old brother geoff who gave up been in a band all them years ago.
fast forward to 2018 and we have a world renown tennis player and jw as far as we’re told.. so where some are encouraged to leave the world and it’s futile pursuits of fame and fortune, others are not.
or even punished for their behaviour on court or for been photographed with their country’s flag where others have been executed for refusing to salute flags.
Doubter - I don't think you realise how dumb you come across in your posts, on this thread and other ones. You don't look at all the facts and you pick and choose which bits of information you want to believe or twist it to what you want.
If you were a true jw you would not be on apostate (aka - people who know the truth about "the truth") websites.
You're obviously having big doubts about the organisation yourself otherwise you wouldn't be here and you also wouldn't be clutching at straws to defend the watchtowers teachings/rules which are blatantly incorrect, which just makes your answers come across as dumb because they have no foundation. Most of us here will have done the same whilst we were still in, to some degree!
i heard this site used to have a chat feature.
i go to chatstep.com and will meet a witness there sometimes.
does anyone know other chat sites that are good for meeting witnesses?
Jwtom - you should visit jwfacts it's one of the best sites around 😊
i had some terrible dark nightmares when i was studying which disappeared once i got baptised.
i think it was psychological based on the fact i believed jehovah was protecting me after i was baptised.
i had a nightmare tonight after just under a year of being out of the borg and woke up feeling a bit lost because in the past i'd have prayed and then gone back into a peaceful sleep but since i don't pray anymore i wasn't sure how to comfort myself to go back to sleep.

Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?
my still in wife informed me this morning that she must be on time to the meeting as they are locking the door when it starts now.. i said that's crazy.
she said it's because of the times we are living in.. we live in a rural area and crime isn't terrible though it's worse than it used to be.. i told her if that's the way it is then why bother leaving the house at all?.
she said they are just trying to be safe.. is this a thing now?
If its to keep keep apostates out they can easily go in suits and pretend to be visiting from another hall. Ive never been in a hall yet that's locked its doors and I've been In about 20, although none of them in almost a year.
i don't have kids, but i recently found that someone with kids that lives in my town is also an ex-jw.
she just happened to post on an apostafest thread on facebook for an event that i attended, saw that we lived in the same place, and i met her for the first time tonight.
pretty cool.. she has a 14 year old boy that is super smart and very articulate.
Ive got a copy of the custody booklet and also the elders handbook if anyone needs it you can pm me.
Next year once I have a laptop I'm putting together something that can be used in court In child welfare hearings for in the UK. I'll happily send what i gather to anyone who needs it. At the moment I'm collecting information together for it so if anyone knows any watchtowers, awakes or other literature or even laws that i can use that can be used in cases of non jw parent vs. jw parent feel free to pm me. Thank you

Hope the case works out well dubstepped and you get the chance to prove to the judge how damaging the religion is. I'm dealing first hand with the lies jdubs tell in court about their religion it's so frustrating.
Printing off as much hard evidence of people's experiences and taking the societies own literature to use against them seems to be the only way to get the point across and that's only if the judge even let's you present your evidence, which mine hasn't so far and its really annoying.
